Lady In Waiting - Painting Finished

Well, here is the finished painting. It's bath day for this beautiful shire, and it looks like the soap and ladder are at the ready. Now we just need a volunteer for the job. Someone better show up soon...the water is running and the sponge may float away. Hope you enjoy the painting.

It has been a while since I have posted to our group blog...my painting time took a hit with other business. But I am back at work finishing the toucan painting. Thought you might like to take a look.

I spent this weekend at the Mill Creek Arts Fair displaying paintings and working on the toucan. If you have ever painted outside with acrylic paints, you can understand that one needs to work quickly.

To keep my paints wet while painting in the sunshine I put them on a very damp paper towel and mist often. I also use Golden's Acrylic Glazing Fluid, but that will also dry much more quickly outside in the direct sunlight than when working inside.

I found it a lot of fun to paint during the fair...I had a lot of onlookers. Sometimes I would ask them to add their own touches or give color advice. Many of them came back several times to see how the painting was coming.

Well, there is still a lot of work to do...unfortunately I will have to finish it all alone in my studio.

Imelda Fagin's: 3 Against 1

Here's my work: Three Against One. It will be in the BWAC Big show this summer in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It was the second piece I did, inspired by the early medieval Spanish Apocalyptic Manuscripts. It's 60X36 and I love the bold colors and line.
I really feel rejuvenated working in this style. It's inspired me to create my own designs.

Just a new painting

I thought I'd add one of my more recent acrylics paintings, to help keep the blog going. It is called Apples, Book and Vase. Painted on mountboard, approx 14 " X 21".

This painting was inspired by the publishing of my daughters', Sudi Pigott, first book. It's called 'How To Be A Better Foodie , A bulging little guide for the truly epicurious'. It was published in the UK last October and a US edition is being published in October. The vase and bowl are based on two of her possessions.

Hope you like it, and look out for the book. If you love food it makes a really good , informative and funny read !
